The relationship between the past and present in his theatrical scene is restructured by a density of images where linguistics, semiology, physics and philosophy intersect. Stoppard's scene is a space he opens to debate life and multi-faceted forms of human existence. In the play, 'death image' becomes functional on the basis of Deterministic philosophy and the views of the German philosopher Martin Heidegger on existentialism.
