Milli Egitim Bakanligi, 2025) Akkaya, Elvan Esen; Karadağ, Öznur; Mirzeoglu, Ayse Dilşad; Atli, KadirThis study aims to examine students’ experiences on the personalized system of instruction used in folk dance education. The study group of this research consists of 12 fifth-grade students attending a middle school in the Central district of Bolu during the 2023–2024 academic year. In the research, where the phenomenological design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used, the data were collected using semi-structured focus group interviews. In the study, folk dances were taught to the participating students using the personalised system of instruction for nine weeks. The data obtained from the research were analyzed by content analysis and as a result of the analysis, they were grouped under two main themes: “Emotions” and “Opinions” regarding the personalised system of instruction and folk dance application. Under these two main themes, four sub-themes were identified: “Personalized System of Instruction Model,” “Folk Dances,” “Workbook,” and “Technology Support.” When the findings obtained in the study were examined, it was determined that the system applied was an adequate and effective model in learning and provided many advantages to the participants such as creating diversity in the learning process, providing autonomy and repeatability. While the folk dances taught in the research provide students the opportunity to learn/live the culture, it was determined that the students had fun, enjoyed themselves and felt happy during the activities. In the research, the workbook prepared as a part of the system was found to be highly effective and useful by the participants, and it was determined to provide students with autonomy. Additionally, it was found out in the research that the technological support used as a supplementary element to the workbook facilitated learning and provided significant support to the learning process. In conclusion, it can be said that students have positive feelings and opinions about the personalised system of instruction, and it can be used as an alternative approach in folk dance education. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.Öğe The Relationship Between Perceptions of Technological Value Orientation and Internet Usage Motivations of Students in the Field of Sports Sciences(Manisa Celal Bayar Üniversitesi, 2025) Karadağ, Öznur; Akkaya, Elvan Esen; Mirzeoğlu, A. Dilşad; Atlı, KadirTechnology-related studies exist in every field and conducting technology-related research in sports sciences is important in terms of increasing awareness. This study aimed to compare the technological value orientation perceptions and internet usage motivations of students in sports sciences in terms of various variables and examine the relationship between their technological value orientation perceptions and internet usage motivations. 719 students in sports sciences at universities in Western Black Sea region of Turkey participated in research, which was conducted with the relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods. Data were collected with Personal Information Form, Technological Value Orientation Perception Scale (TVOP) and Internet Use Motivation Scale (IMS). Data were analyzed by using independent groups t-test, One-Way-ANOVA, Pearson Correlation test. Findings, the internet usage motivation of men, with one sibling and with two siblings was significantly higher (p<0.05). While it was seen that the students of the coaching department had a significantly higher perception of technological value orientation (p<0.05), no significant relationship was found between TVOP and IMS (p>0.05). As a result, it can be said that the students of the faculty of sports sciences have intermediate levels of TVOP and IMS, and there is no significant relationship between TVOP and IMS.
