Safe and healthy workplaces provide conditions that can increase both the individual health and work efficiency of employees. To this end, occupational health nurses play a key role in protecting and improving occupational health. Nurses raise awareness among employees about preventing diseases and accidents through workplace health promotion programmes and also implement interventions that increase mental and physical health. One of these nursing interventions is laughter yoga. Research shows that laughter yoga produces varying results in reducing work-related stress, anxiety, and depression. While a significant decrease in work depression was observed, especially in online laughter yoga sessions, no change was reported in symptoms of work anxiety, work-related stress, or loneliness. In contrast, face-to-face laughter yoga sessions significantly reduced work-related stress, anxiety, and depression levels in participants and also reduced blood pressure, blood cortisol, and nitrate concentrations. These sessions also increased employees’ levels of commitment and self-efficacy. Qualitative analysis results reveal that employees associated laughter yoga with positive effects such as positive emotional experiences, improvement in interpersonal relationships, increased productivity, improved mood, and development of mindfulness skills. Additionally, laughter yoga has been recognized as an effective strategy for coping with stress, providing social interaction, and promoting relaxation. These findings suggest that laughter yoga is a powerful intervention that supports both mental and physical well-being in the workplace.
