There have been important developments both in the Forest Industry Engineering education program and the wood products in Turkey since the kick off of the department 44 years ago. Universities have to restructure their education programs to adapt to these developments. It is obvious that the departments that do not take necessary measures cannot adapt to national and international developments. This study focusses on the current situation of Forest Industry Engineering Departments that operate under the Forest Faculties in Turkey and aims to reveal how the numbers of students who are the building blocks of the education change according to the records of Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM). Numbers of quotas in the universities and rates of preferability and general distributions are identified within Forest Industry Engineering Departments. These data shed light on what kinds of changes take place in the department and the reasons why. Results obtained are assessed and tendencies and necessary measures to be taken are interpreted.trinfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessForest industry engineeringFaculty of forestCentral placementAn Assessment of the Conditions for Students' Choice of Forest Industry Engineering According to Central Placement ResultsArticle1619095N/A
