Çalışma, KKTC'de 2019-2020 eğitim-öğretim yılında ortaokul 6. sınıf seviyesinde okutulan Türkçe ders kitabındaki metinlerle sınırlı tutulmuştur. Araştırmada betimsel tarama modeli olan doküman analizi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın ilk aşamasında literatür taraması yapılarak ilgili kaynaklar okunmuş, başlık ve konu bakımından sınıflanmış, bunlardan yola çıkılarak da çocuk edebiyatı metinlerinin dayanması gereken temel ilkeler belirlenmiştir. Biçim ve içeriğe ilişkin olarak belirlenen ölçütlerden hareketle söz konusu ders kitabındaki otuz altı metin incelenmiştir. Araştırma, sonucunda KKTC 2019-2020 eğitim-öğretim yılında ortaokul 6. sınıf seviyesinde okutulan Türkçe ders kitabındaki metinler üzerine yapılmıştır. Çocuk edebiyatı ürünlerinin dayanması gereken temel ilkeler kapsamında, içerik ve biçim ile ilgili özelliklerin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bununla beraber noktalama işaretleri çeşitliliğinin olmadığı, atasözü kullanımının çok kısıtlı olduğu, resim seçiminin başarısız olduğu gibi yetersizliklerin olduğu görülmüştür.The aim of this research is to examine the texts in the 6th grade Turkish textbook taught in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in terms of the basic qualities that should be found in children's literature products. Our study was created by examining the texts in the Turkish textbook taught at the 6th grade level of secondary school in the 2019-2020 academic year in the TRNC. Document analysis, one of the descriptive research methods, was used in the study process. During our study, first of all, the basic principles that children's literature texts should be based on were determined. In this direction, the necessary information was collected from the relevant sources by making a literature review. Thirty texts in the relevant textbook were examined and evaluated, taking into account the criteria related to the form and content that children's literature products should rely on. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the texts in the Turkish textbook taught at the 6th grade level of secondary school in the 2019-2020 academic year in the TRNC generally contain the features related to content and form within the scope of the basic principles that children's literature products should be based on.
