The questionnaire was developed to reach the aim and was conducted with 32 students who were studying at the Toki Mehmet Akif Ersoy Middle School in 2016-2017 academic years. At the implementation of the research; students were shown a 10-minute animation about global warming. How global warming is revealed and how it emerges was explained in animation. The students were asked three open-ended of questions about global warming. For the analysis, frequency analysis was used, which is a content analysis method. The students’ answers given to the questions were coded by the researcher. According to the results of the research, the majority of the students stated that global warming was dangerous. They stated that the most important cause of global warming is human behavior. The students stated that if something is not done, it will be bad for humanity. They predicted that the world would become unbearable twenty years later. This study is important for younger students to become conscious about the factors that threaten the human future like global warming. The formation of this consciousness will help students to move in for measures that need to be taken later. © The Turkish Online Journal of Educational Technology.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessGlobal warming; Middle school; Socio-scientific issues; Students’ viewsMiddle school students views’ on socio-scientific issues: Global warming exampleArticle2017November Special Issue INTE510515N/A
